What I’m Listening To: Hey Love
So, I know I said I was going to get a post up about my Value Village trip earlier this week, but this week has been busy and I’ve had no time to put it all together and take pictures. I know. This blog is filled with crushed hopes and broken promises. But I wanted to do it properly and not snap some hurried pictures as I’m on my way to work. So, it will have to wait until next week. Instead, I will share with you an album I’ve been listening to A LOT lately. Dan and I recently decided to start a little tradition, every two weeks (when we get paid. haha.) we go out and we each get to choose an album. It’s been good, because I’ve found lately that I have such a list of albums I want to buy and then it just seems insurmountable and unjustifiable so I don’t buy any at all. So now we each get to pick something guilt free and have new (to us anyways) music in the house again.
Hey Love by Hayden was actually Dan’s first pick (I picked the new Whitehorse album) and it’s kind of been our go to when we don’t have anything in particular we want to listen to. He opened for Dan Mangan at Massey Hall a few months ago, and I know he’s been around for a long time, but I was never really into him before. But this show really made us come around. I’m not even really sure what it was in particular. The album is pretty laid back, but at the same time it has a really good energy, like an underlying, driving beat. It’s just good listening so if you’ve bought all the albums on your list already, I’d highly recommend checking this one out next.
